Ken Colby

A life long native of Woodstock, Ken attended Woodstock schools graduating from Woodstock Union High School in 1968. After starting work in the construction field in 1969 he received an associates degree in Architectural Design from VT Technical College in 1973. In April of that year he and Erik Tobiason formed their company "Colby and Tobiason Custom Builders".

After spending close to 35 years in the construction, design and restoration field Ken has accumulated extensive knowledge of all facets of the construction business.

Ken also served 3 years on the Woodstock Town Zoning board. When he is not working Ken enjoys British cars, playing in a blues band and spending time with family and friends.

Erik Tobiason

Erik was born in Princeton NJ. His family moved to Vermont in the mid 60's. He attended Woodstock Schools and graduated from Woodstock Union High School in 1971. Erik worked with his father's and grandfather's construction firm in NJ from his early teens until coming to Vermont. He has a lifelong connection to the building business.

Erik is currently Chairman of the Barnard Zoning Board.

He and his wife, Laurel, live in Barnard VT and enjoy working with the Green Mountain Club, building shelters and maintaining hiking trails. They are also wildlife rehabilitators.
